During National Volunteer Week from April 21-27, 2024, Daniela Aguilera, RRA Director, joined Alison Bibb-Carson, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at College Now, on Channel 3 News to share her experience volunteering with College Now Greater Cleveland mentorship program. College Now works to recruit mentors for local college-bound students to help guide them through their education.
Daniela Aguilera has served as a mentor for different organizations and signed up to be a mentor through College Now’s program a couple of years ago, citing her own experience with mentors throughout her life.
“During my whole career, I feel like I have been lucky to have amazing mentors — like managers, co-workers, people that helped me through my career,” Aguilera said. “So, I felt it was good to give back and help”.
Daniela works mainly with international students to provide guidance and advice as they progress through their degree programs. Coaching Supply Chain graduate students from Case Western Reserve University on career aspects to get internships and placement in the job market, and with College Now guiding low-income or first-generation students on their journey to reduce the college dropout rates in Greater Cleveland.
